Interview on Young Writer, Web Developer & Entrepreneur K M Rehan Salahuddin
www.sortoflife.com: Would you like to let our readers know a little about you? May be a short introduction?
K M Rehan Salahuddin: Hahaha (Laugh), I’m what I’m, people around me know about it very clearly. I don’t know what should I say about me, but I would like to say that I’m the guy who loves to take challenges. Life without a challenging aim seems boring and finally money is not everything in life but without money life in 21st century is almost nothing.
www.sortoflife.com: How old are you, what school do you go to, your major and year?
K M Rehan Salahuddin: Oh no, I thought I could hide my age. But as you insist I’m 27years old and I’m doing my PhD in Enterprise Management.
www.sortoflife.com: What is your main identity, we know you are a writer, a web developer and an entrepreneur, which identity you like most?
K M Rehan Salahuddin: Let me answer this question in a different way. I’m not a writer because I don’t believe I have those qualifications that require being a professional writer. I write to share my ideas and feelings, I write to raise my voice against something I don’t like, I write to let people know what I think.
But web development is the way I try to earn some bucks to buy me food and cloths. I try to entertain people by designing and/or developing software/website of their need. As I like to work independently I prefer doing things without obligations.
Yes I’m an entrepreneur as I’ve started my own venture. But entrepreneurship for me is creativity rather than ripping off people. I try to be creative and try to take entrepreneurship as an amazing opportunity for me to make a difference in the world right where I’m.
www.sortoflife.com: We would like to know about your company and the concept and mission behind it. Where did the idea come from?
K M Rehan Salahuddin: Actually I’ve started a business when I was 18. I opened a small company to sell computers and hosting service. But to continue my study I had to sell the company. When I’ve finished my Mba (Masters of Business Administration) I’ve again registered a new company.
The mission is very easy and specific, that is to provide service without complain. We sell online service, such as web development/hosting/advertising and the industry is very competitive. The idea actually was always there in my mind, I always wanted to do something in web industry.
www.sortoflife.com: From your answer we can see your passion and dedication toward education. As we know you are very successful as a student. But as an entrepreneur how successful you are?
K M Rehan Salahuddin: If you want to judge the success by calculating how much money my company is making then I may not be counted as a successful entrepreneur yet. As I want to build a solid customer base and want to have better relationship with my clients I do not charge a huge profit. Also I try to spend the money that I earn to make my service better and steady. But till now I’ve never felt that I want to give up what I’m doing, rather I’m enjoying the whole thing. I may not have an expensive sports car but I’ve the love and belief of lot of customers.
www.sortoflife.com: What type of customers would you say is your main base so far?
K M Rehan Salahuddin: Mostly students, new web developing companies, web solution resellers. But as I’ve personal experience of being cheated by web developing/hosting companies (when I was an undergraduate student), I try to support the students and young entrepreneurs.
www.sortoflife.com: As you said you try to support young entrepreneurs, do you think you are not an young entrepreneur? Or it is your hobby to support people?
K M Rehan Salahuddin: You may say it is my hobby to support people; to support a cause (must be a good cause). When I was 15 our country suffered in heavy flood. Many people died and an enormous damage was done by that flood. At that time I was a middle school student but I remember I tried to make a group of students to gather food and support for the people who suffered most. I do things that I like and I think I like to watch people smile.
www.sortoflife.com: What advice would you give to other young entrepreneurs?
K M Rehan Salahuddin: Do what you want to do and try to do something specific and unique. Try to enjoy the thing you are doing, if you aren’t enjoying it then leave it. Try to imagine and build a dream that is attainable, because there are no limits to what you can do, you know your limits thus you know the best that how can you achieve your dream.
